I was raised in small Minnesota town. My brother introduced me to the beauty of the great outdoors. Rural Minnesota landscapes of offer much to appreciate - from meandering creeks, wet lands, marshes, hills, ditches, birds and bugs. My high school art teacher formally introduced us to creative thinking and representation. Forever I will remember her taking  the 9th grade art class to our first taste of plein air painting. We did ink drawings of thistles growing on the side of the road. I was hooked.
